We are all given one life to live and it is our responsibility to live it well…
Throughout these last four years I have had an incredible opportunity of meeting so many wonderful people. I feel truly blessed and honored to do what I do and provide people with memories that will last a lifetime. For me, I don’t feel that I am in the “picture taking business” but rather one of creating memories. With each client that enters these doors, a friendship begins, and they are no longer just “clients” but rather, friends.
Each person that I have had the privilege of photographing holds a dear place in my heart. Particularly this family.
I first met Jayme a little over a year and a half ago for her maternity session. It was a surprise for her husband, Ben, who had been encouraging her to document this incredible time in their lives. I love being a part of surprises like this! They are so much fun and he loved it!
I then met Ben and their beautiful baby girl, for Elle’s newborn session and immediately saw the love that Ben had for Jayme and their daughter. He adoooored his new family. Every once in a while throughout the session I would see Ben give Jayme a little hug and a kiss on the forehead as they gazed at their daughter. It was so sweet… a moment I was grateful to be a part of.
It is these intimate moments that I so cherish about my {job.} Moments that seem fleeting, but last a lifetime.
During the next year I was invited by Jayme and Ben to document their precious Elle’s first year, which I was SO excited for! I absolutely love getting to see these precious babies every three months and hear how things are going at home. It is such a blast!
During that year, however, I also witnessed Ben fight for his life with brain cancer… Throughout the year and a half+ that I had the great honor of knowing Ben, I saw a husband with an incredible love for his wife, a daddy who absolutely adooores his little girl and would do anything to protect her, and a strong and courageous man who fought hard for his life…
We are all given one life to live… And I am SO thankful that I had the privilege and honor of knowing a life that was lived well.
Ben,
You will be truly and dearly missed…
Thank you is not enough for how grateful I am to have photographed your precious little girl and sweet family and provide them with memories that will last a lifetime… Thank you…
Michelle
