Wow… Where do I begin with this post? I guess from the beginning… right?
I first met this dynamic and amazing couple probably 2 years ago and immediately clicked with them. Latasha & Isaiah are incredible photographers in the Seattle area and are the owners of Latasha Haynes Photography. We had become friends over Facebook and then when we met in person, it felt like I had known them for years. They are the type of magnetic couple that you are instantly drawn to, instantly love, and instantly admire. They love God, love people, and love photography, which are three passions of mine as well.
A little over a year ago, we were all out to dinner and Latasha turned to me and said, ”You get my first born.” I was floored. “ME?!?!” There are THOUSANDS of photographers in the Seattle area alone… and Latasha was choosing me… ME… Oh dear Lord in Heaven! I was beyond honored! Well, a little inside scoop, Latasha wasn’t expecting at the time… But who would have thunk that just a few months later, Latasha and Isaiah would be getting the SURPRISE of their LIFE!
The road to parenthood for many parents is one filled with excitement and anticipation. For Latasha, it was a road of breaking barriers. You see, Latasha was given up at birth and spent many of her years in Foster Care… Her story is powerful, honest, and filled with hope and God’s abundant grace.
The day that the beautiful Miss Wisdom came to my studio, I was nervous. I’ll be honest. As any newborn photographer will tell you, the baby is in charge. They call the shots for their session. I had spent hours upon hours preparing mentally for their session. I wanted to not only provide Latasha and Isaiah with beautiful images, but I also wanted push myself photographically and artistically. Not to mention… I was photographing another photographer…
I have had many defining moments throughout my career as a photographer and am constantly pushing myself at every session. But at this session, everything fell right into place and just clicked. The hours of preparation paid off, and the incredibly adorable Miss Wisdom knocked it out of the park.
Like I said, I have had many defining moments throughout my career, and one of those moments was and still is, knowing this dynamic couple.
Latasha & Isaiah,
I am so thankful to call you “friend.” Photographing your precious little girl was truly an honor and I am still so honored and grateful that you asked me to capture this incredible time in your lives. I cannot wait to continue this journey with you in capturing your daughter’s First Year. God has truly blessed Wisdom with amazing parents and I pray that He will continue to bless your marriage, you as parents, and your business.
Love to you both!
Michelle
