It was approximately 4 years ago that my husband and I were out to dinner… I recognized one of the servers who cheerfully came over and said “HI!” He started telling us about his girlfriend and his plans to propose. So, I did what most photographers would do, I handed him my business card :) At that time, I didn’t even know we went to the same church!

Later on, I got to meet the lovely Courtney… and was ecstatic for them when they became engaged and truly honored when they asked me to be their wedding photographer!

I can’t believe their day is coming up so quickly! Here’s a fun sneak peek from their engagement session. Enjoy!

I have been SO excited for Ryan & Christina’s engagement session and had an absolute blast with them on Monday! I have known Christina and her family for 20+ years and had the fun privilege and honor of photographing her CD Cover little over a year ago. Then when Christina & Ryan asked me to be their wedding photographer, I was ECSTATIC! Not to mention, I had known a little secret since April, and couldn’t WAIT until everything was “officially official.” ;)

I don’t know if these two could be anymore in-love or anymore perfect for each other! They were absolutely adorable to listen to during the session too. I think I heard “Babe” or “Baby” at least 30 times in the first hour. I loved it! They make me smile!

Here’s a sneak peek from their Engagement Session. ENJOY!!!

I absolutely love weddings. There is so much excitement and anticipation that surrounds this incredible day and so many details that take place. I am one of those who loves hearing all about the details. Go figure, right? =) I love to hear how my couples meet, how he proposed, what her dress looks like, etc. etc. I also love hearing how so many of my clients are connected.

I first met Alicia briefly in passing while photographing her cousin’s wedding almost a year ago. And now, here we are, gearing up for her incredible day!

I was SOOOOOO happy when I checked the weather report to see that the sun was FINALLY going to burst through the clouds (and what felt like an eternity of rainy days) and provide us with incredible morning light for their engagement session. We drove all over the valley from Monroe to Carnation for their session. Here’s a sneak peek from today. Enjoy!! =)

What to Wear ~ Couples {Seattle Eastside Wedding Photographer}

June 22nd, 2011

I love Engagement Sessions. They are a great way for me to get to know my Bride & Grooms behind the camera before their wedding day as well as a fun way for them to let lose and have amongst the busy planning. Like any portrait session, there is no need to be “matcy-matchy.” However, [...]

I love Engagement Sessions. They are a great way for me to get to know my Bride & Grooms behind the camera before their wedding day as well as a fun way for them to let lose and have amongst the busy planning.

Like any portrait session, there is no need to be “matcy-matchy.” However, what IS important, particularly with an Engagement Session, is to take what you are wearing for your session up a notch. Guys, that means “dressing up” a little outside of the lounge wear of shorts and T-shirts. And Ladies, this is your opportunity to be cute-n-sassy as if you’re headed out for a night on the town.

Make sure to keep a color pallete in mind (see ideas below) when pulling your outfits together so you look coordinated, yet not “matchy-matchy.” And most of all, HAVE FUN with this!!! =)

I had the fun opportunity of meeting up with this cute couple Saturday for their engagement session DT Snohomish. I love shooting DT Snohomish. There are lots of old brick buildings, allies and other cool textured walls to play with. The sunshine even decided to peek it’s head out from behind the clouds, which made me a happy camper! Here’s a sneak peek from Sydney & Jordan’s session!
